This 1968 Fiat 500F was purchased in 2014 for a full restoration.
An iconic head turner.
The buy
Cutting out all corroded panels
Adding new floor panels, support beams and inner fenders to strengthen the remains of the car for further processing
The now rigid remains of the car are placed into an oven at 400 degrees Celcius to remove all paint, corrosion protection (Tectyl), filler and kit.
After the car came out of the oven it was sandblasted and painted into zinc-phosphate primer
In the next part of the restoration proces we welded in all remaining body panels. Rear and front fenders, front panel, bonnet, and floor of the trunk
First the bottom and the engine bay are coated with InnoTec Polyurethane Sprayseal to protect the car from corrosion in the future
We spraypainted the whole car in Zinc phosphate primer again, and then started the paint process inside and outside
The 650cc engine and synchronised gearbox are overhauled
We installed a new wiring harness, and all other parts added to the car are renewed. Below is the end result.
